Last night was the culmination of hard work, innovation, and the love for Hamilton entrepreneurs. Those who attended the Lion's Lair gala can attest to the contagious energy circulating Carmen's Banquet Hall and the love and admiration for Hamilton's renewed economic city center.
The whole night the room revolved around the 10 finalists, all vying for their chance at the $100,000 prize. However, many of the finalists had the best mentality we could all hope for. Many of them continuously said that it didn't matter if they won; they're all so thankful as a result of how much they have grown and how much their companies have grown throughout this whole process. This thought echoed through the crowd, so many supportive people all around trying to help these amazing entrepreneurs their chance at success.
Congratulations to the 10 finalists dinnerlicious!, Dunlea Farms Pet Hay: Tidy Feeder, Enthuzr, Nervu, New Attitude, Ontario Bamboo, REfficient, Synxer, Snappay, and Weongozi on all their hard work and dedication to not just Lion's Liar, but to their businesses as well. That dedication and passion will take them all very far.
The Lions, Dr. Nick Bontis, Sophia Aggelontitis, PJ Mercanti, Mike Morreale, and Rami Reda had a very difficult decision to make, but in the end they awarded Nervu a total of $15,000: $5000 in accounting services from KPMG, $3000 in team dynamics training from Communica, and $7000 in cash from CareGo, First Ontario Credit Union, McMaster Innovation Park, Mohawk College, Pioneer Gas, and RBC.
